Although not an immediate association there is no doubting the effectiveness of Physiotherapy in the treatment of Dementia. Our physiotherapists are able to assess the impairments and physical limitations faced by dementia sufferers and tailor treatments to help improve function and quality of life.

Dementia can significantly add to the recovery time following an operation or procedure and we are able to help with our specialist experience of rehabilitation treatments. In addition, a dementia sufferer is more likely to experience a fall and again we are able to assist with practical help and advice to patients, families, carers and other healthcare professionals.

Our specialists are able to work with carers of Dementia sufferers, helping them to recognise signals and reduce the burden of care by encouraging increased patient independence where possible or ensuring a comprehensive and holistic management plan in conjunction with primary care providers.
