Shoulder problems following breast surgery
Often as a result of surgery to the breast or chest, restriction of movement at the neck and shoulder will occur. The connective tissues are damaged by the radiotherapy and surgery causing it to contract. This tightness can reduce movement and produce pain. Treatment can begin immediately post surgery but can be very effective even years after surgery.
