Online Remote Video Consultations (Telemedicine)
We currently have several Physiotherapists providing remote, online physiotherapy consultations via secure video link, using Microsoft Teams or Zoom. The obvious benefits of remote video consultations are that patients can receive assessment or treatment regardless of where they are in the world and without needing to be able to attend one of our Clinics.
Our Team are able to offer appointments during the daytime, evenings and even on Saturday mornings! We also have some small-group Pilates sessions available remotely and in some instances, we are able to offer both neurological rehabilitation and rehabilitation of the older person via online video link.
You may be thinking ‘Physio via video, surely that can’t be effective’ well to put your mind at ease, we have produced this Remote Video Consultation Guide containing the latest research findings and patient testimonials. In our experience, people are natural improvisers and whilst we can’t get our ‘hands-on’ we can complete both a comprehensive assessment and treatment program with you, that is comparable in outcome to face-to-face consultations.
Whilst many patients will already have used Zoom or similar video conferencing software to communicate with family, others will naturally feel nervous about it, or that it will be too challenging. We have therefore produced some step-by-step guidance How to connect to your video consultation in 5 simple steps! , along with some useful preparation hints and tips: Preparing for your video consultation. We also make sure to allow some ‘glitch over-run’ time between appointments and our Team will do all that we can to get you connected, including talking you through it on the phone if necessary!
There really is no need to delay treatment until you can attend one of our Physiotherapy Clinics in Guildford, Godalming or Wonersh – To book a video consultation appointment now, please visit our booking page or contact us.
