What do Nick Easter, Frensham Heights and a Spotted Laurel have in common?

On Monday James Avery, Managing Director of Bevan Wilson Physiotherapy was invited to talk to the Hampshire & Surrey Borders Independent Nurses Forum at Frensham Heights School near Farnham regarding Adolescent Sports Injuries. The ninety-minute session was attended by forty nurses from local independent schools and received some fantastic feedback. James said
It was an excellent session with plenty of interaction, sharing of ideas and practice. I’m sure that everyone will have gone away from today with some useful information and tips to help improve their school’s sports injury service.
James has worked with children and adolescents for over 18years including his time at Arsenal Football Club, The Lawn Tennis Association and Charterhouse School so he is excellently placed to lecture and provide professional advice on this subject. The session covered anatomy and biomechanics, growth and development, common growth-related pathology such as Osgood Schlatters and Severs, treatment strategies, injury prevention and screening. On Thursday Bevan Wilson attended an excellent business networking lunch with special guest Nick Easter (Harlequins Rugby coach and ex England & Quins Captain). The event, hosted by Snap Sponsorship was attended by over seventy Senior managers, Company Directors and Club Chairman and provided an excellent opportunity for Bevan Wilson to highlight not only it’s highly-rated sports injury services, including Rugby physio led by Quins Physio Elliott Clarke, but also its Working Health services.
As some of our patients will be aware we have been adding some finishing touches to our new clinic in Boxgrove, Guildford including planting a Spotted Laurel to add some winter colour to the area in front of our Clinic. The Clinic, which opened in September is perfectly placed for the residents of Merrow, Burpham, Boxgrove as well as our existing patients from our Guildford Spectrum and Guildford High Street Clinics which have now closed. An official launch is planned for the New Year however we are delighted to have been warmly embraced by the local community and are already very busy during our daytime and evening clinics. To meet demand we hope to be open four evenings and weekends by January 2017 and have an excellent team of Specialist Physiotherapists covering everything from back pain and elite athletes with sports injuries to the older person who is unsteady on their feet.
